Privacy Policy
Plain language, as POPIA intends. This explains what personal information we collect, why, and your rights.
1. Who we are (the "responsible party")
Real Hey I (Pty) Ltd, Magaliesburg, Gauteng, South Africa, is the responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

2. What we collect, and why
When you buy the kit: your name, email, cell number and delivery address. We use this to process your payment reference, build and configure your unit, deliver it, and support you afterwards. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
When you contact us: whatever details you give us (name, number, farm details) so we can respond and quote. Legal basis: legitimate interest in responding to your enquiry.
Marketing: only if you tick the optional opt-in box or subscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email. Legal basis: your consent.
Cookies: essential cookies only, unless you switch on analytics or marketing cookies in our cookie banner. Analytics and marketing cookies are off by default. You can change your choice anytime via "Manage cookies" in the footer.
Monitoring data: if you use our monitoring service, the system processes sensor readings (e.g. water levels) linked to your account. We use this to provide the service and, if you take the support plan, to assist you proactively.
3. What we never do
We never sell your personal information. We never see or store your card details — payment happens on PayFast's secure platform. We don't send marketing unless you opted in.
4. Who we share information with (our "operators")
Only what's necessary, only to deliver the service: PayFast (payment processing), The Courier Guy (your name, number and delivery address, to deliver your order), our email provider (to send confirmations), and our website analytics provider (only if you enabled analytics cookies, and with IP anonymisation). Each operator processes your information under its own security obligations.
5. How long we keep it
Order and invoice records are kept for 5 years as required by South African tax law. Enquiry details are kept for up to 2 years. Marketing details are kept until you unsubscribe. Monitoring account data is kept while your account is active and deleted on written request after closure, subject to legal retention duties.
6. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to secure personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) on this site and access controls on our systems. If a data breach ever affects you, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
7. Your rights under POPIA
You may ask us at any time to: confirm what personal information we hold about you; correct or update it; delete it (where the law allows); object to processing; or withdraw consent for marketing. Email privacy@realheyi.com and we will respond within a reasonable time, normally 30 days or less.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za · complaints.IR@inforegulator.org.za.
8. Children
Our products and website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be flagged on the website.
